PDC Facilitated Public Dialogue at Wollo, Desse in Collaboration with Wollo University

Peace and Development Center, in partnership with UN Women & Wollo University, is facilitating a public Dialogue Form on “Enhancing the Role of Women & Youth in Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention” in Wollo, Desse. Similar Dialogue Forms will continue in other parts of the country with the goal of enhancing the awareness and role of youth and women in preventing conflict and building sustainable peace.

PDC Launched LOVaP Project in Jinka, South Omo

Ensuring Peaceful Coexistence and Promoting Human Rights Values among the Communities of Lower Omo Valley (LOVaP) project launching and validation workshop is happening now in Jinka, South Omo. The project is a three years project supported by the European Union. PDC and EPaRDA partnered for its implementation.

PDC Conducted Peacebuilding Training at Addis Ababa, Kolfe Keraniyo Sub-City 

PDC conducted action-based training for neighboring Burayu, Oromia and Addis Ababa city Kolfe Keraniyo sub-city Woreda 10 leaders. The training is expected to identify major issues that is dividing the communities and to develop a joint work plan to address it. The joint training will also continue with the youth of the two neighboring woredas. This pilot project is expected to continue in other neighboring Woredas of Addis Ababa and Oromia. In addition, on the International Peace Day, PDC in partnership with the FDRE Ministry of Peace, conducted a training of trainers on peacebuilding for 40 youths of Addis Ababa. These 40 youths will cascade the training to other 400 youths.


PDC Launched Cross-boundary Initiative for Peace Project at Jigiga, Somali Regional State

PDC launched a project in Jigjiga on September 3, 2020. Cross-boundary Initiative for Peace (CIP) project is a four years project supported by the USAID and to be implemented in collaboration with Oromia and Somali regional states.
